Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic emulsion having high sensitivity and excellent in storage stability. SOLUTION: The silver halide emulsion contains silver halide grains, wherein a dye chromophore has been adsorbed in multiple layers on silver halide grain surfaces, an average surface iodine content of the silver halide grains is 6-40 mol%, ≥70% of the total projected area of the silver halide grains is occupied by tabular grains having (111) planes as main surfaces, a coefficient of variation in circle-equivalent diameter of all the grains is within the range of 16-40%, and an average iodine content of the silver halide grains is 3-15 mol%.
