GLASS FORMING MOLD AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass forming mold which is superior in mold releasing property and durability, and for which the material cost can be reduced as compared with a precious metal film or an alloy film, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The glass forming mold is provided with a mold body 1 and a coating layer 3 laminated on the mold body 1, a molding surface S is formed in the coating layer 3, and a surface layer part 2 including the molding surface S of the coating layer 3 contains 20 to 40 at% of a precious metal element. The above-mentioned coating layer 3 is not always necessary, and it is also acceptable that the molding surface S is formed directly on the molding body 1 and a specified amount of the precious metal element is contained in the surface layer part including this forming srface.
