METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING CARBON DIOXIDE IN EXHAUST GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for effectively removing carbon dioxide in exhaust gas with ease. SOLUTION: The method for removing carbon dioxide in exhaust gas is carried out by bringing the exhaust gas into contact with an absorbing liquid in an absorption column. Calcium hydroxide-containing water is used as the absorbing liquid. Slurry of calcium carbonate is formed by absorbing carbon dioxide in the absorbing liquid and separated. The separated slurry of calcium carbonate is neutralized by an acid. The neutralized slurry of calcium carbonate is separated into calcium carbonate and waste water. The apparatus for absorbing carbon dioxide by using this method is provided with an exhaust gas cooling unit 10, the absorption column 12, a slurry separating unit 16 for separating the slurry of calcium carbonate, a neutralization unit 18 for neutralizing the slurry of calcium carbonate by the acid and a solid-liquid separating unit for separating the slurry into calcium carbonate and waste water.
