ARTIFICIAL FLOATING ISLAND EQUIPPED WITH NET FOR PROTECTING FRY AND LARVA AND PURIFYING WATER QUALITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial floating island capable of solving problems as follows: an artificial floating island conventionally provided has a body formed out of a synthetic resin, is structured so as to have a form of being floated on the surface of water, and therefore has defects of being overthrown and sharply bent by a strong wind and a mountainous wave; a shielding material for protecting fry gathering under the conventional floating island is not enough, so that the fry is exposed to a danger of being caught and eaten by a large-sized fish, and further, weights for fastening the conventional floating island to a certain position is not enough, so that the island is often floated; and a measure for purifying water quality is not especially taken and therefore the conventional floating island does not contribute to the growth of plants and organisms. SOLUTION: This artificial floating island is structured so that a small-sized square body is positioned inside a large-sized square body which is formed by winding and fastening a nonwoven fabric formed out of a natural palm fiber around a synthetic resin foamed material, and then corners of both the bodies are connected by the materials having elasticity, respectively. A net is stretched over the bodies, and further nets having weights at their bottom ends are hung from peripheral edges of the large-sized square body into the water. The nets are coated with at least one kind selected from a mineral for emitting far infrared rays and a substance for producing a photocatalytic effect, so that the artificial floating island supplies an environment of purifying the water quality and growing the fry and larvae.
