Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element which is obtained using a liquid crystal composition containing a difluorostilbene compound and does not suffer from deterioration in display characteristics even when used for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display element is obtained using a liquid crystal composition comprising the difluorostilbene compound and an ultraviolet absorber having an absorption wavelength band corresponding to the difluorostilbene compound incorporated therewith, and a polyimide liquid crystal alignment film having a specific recurring unit synthesized from a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride mainly composed of cyclobutanetetracarboxylic acid dianhydride and a diamino compound.
