VEHICLE BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION SYSTEM AND OCCUPANT PROTECTION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform rolling determination with sufficient accuracy even when a detected roll angular velocity receives influence of noise and indicates an instantaneous peak value in a vehicle behavior determination system and an occupant protection system. SOLUTION: The rolling determination part 8 of the vehicle behavior determination system 20 determines existence of rolling by substituting the newest roll angular velocity ω(i) with the roll angular velocity ω(i-1) of former one in time series when the time variation amount Δω of the roll angular velocity ω exceeds a previously set threshold value Δω0 when rolling of the vehicle is determined in response to the roll angle θ(i) and the roll angular velocity ω(i) of the vehicle based on a signal of a roll angular velocity sensor 1.
