ELECTRONIC ENDOSCOPE APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope apparatus which does not generate color blotting and image quality degradation in reproduced and displayed endoscopic images when an electronic endoscope provided with an image pickup means using a CCD of a various number of pixels and a light source unit having a prescribed exposure period and light shielding period are combined and used. SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope apparatus 1 is composed of an electronic endoscope 2 having a CCD 12, a light source unit 4, and a video processor 3 for applying a prescribed signal processing to the image pickup signals of the CCD and displaying endoscopic images on a monitor 5. The electronic endoscope apparatus 1 is provided with a CCD discrimination circuit 30 for discriminating the kind of the CCD and a light source judgement circuit 29 for discriminating the kind of a rotary filter 18 provided with the three-primary-color transmission filter of the light source unit, and superimposes masking signals for superimposing a mask on the endoscope images in the different exposure and light shielding periods corresponding to the kinds detected by the CCD discrimination circuit and the light source discrimination circuit.
