LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device capable of suppressing lowering of light emission extracting efficiency for extracting light to the outside of the light emitting device, which is caused by an substance having water absorptivity, and suppressing deterioration of the light emitting element caused by water. SOLUTION: This light emitting device has a first substrate in which a light emitting element is formed, and a second substrate to which a substance having water absorptivity is fixed. The first substrate is pasted to the second substrate by using a sealing material so that the light emitting element formed in the first substrate and the substance fixed to the second substrate and having water absorptivity are sealed in the inside. A second region where the substance having water apsorptivity is fixed in the second substrate is disposed in the outside of a first region where the light emitting element is formed in the first substrate and along the end of the first region, when viewing the light emitting device from the face sides (upper face or lower face).
