CURRENT DETECTOR AND CONTROLLER FOR ELECTRIC STORAGE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current detector for accurately determining whether electric storage means carried on vehicles are deteriorated or not and an electric storage means aging determining apparatus with the current detector. SOLUTION: In the determination on the deterioration of a battery, the mean of the absolute value of the detection current is calculated and the gain errors and linearity errors of the current detector 40 varying with the magnitude of the detection current are calculated. Then, the mean of the variance of the temperature of the current detector 40 is calculated and the offset errors of the current detector 40 varying with the temperature of the current detector 40 are calculated. Then, the errors are added up and the degree of the errors in the integrated detection of the current detector 40 is calculated to be compared with the prescribed allowable value. When the degree of the errors in the integrated detection of the current detector 40 is larger than the allowable value, the accurate determination on the deterioration of the battery is determined to be impossible and the calculation of the usable capacity for the determination on the deterioration of the battery by a deterioration determination means 62 is presently forbidden to postpone the determination on the deterioration of the battery to the subsequent occasion.
