Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inorganic oxide organosol which has good dispersibility and low viscosity, is excellent in transparency, and shows good compatibility with a resin solution. SOLUTION: The process for producing the organosol comprises the steps (A) and (B) of: (A) adding silicon alkoxide having two or more alkoxy groups each bonded to a silicon atom or silicon alkoxide having one or more hydroxy groups each bonded to a silicon atom and one or more alkoxy groups each bonded to a silicon atom to hydrophilic inorganic oxide sol containing 25-100 mass% hydrophilic solvent having ≤100°C boiling point in a dispersion medium to treat surface of the inorganic oxide particle in the sol; and (B) replacing the dispersion medium of the surface treated inorganic oxide sol obtained in the step (A) by a non-alcoholic organic solvent in the presence of a primary alcohol having 3 to 12 carbon atoms.
