Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent two or more sheets of paper from being fed to a printer. SOLUTION: This sheet medium feeding structure of a sheet medium treatment device comprises a sheet medium support surface 17 or 58, a movable pad 60 positioned on the downstream side of the sheet medium support surface 17 or 58 along a medium route 28 and having a medium route 28 extending from the sheet medium support surface 17 or 58 to a movable pad 60 along the movable pad, and a pair of fixed pads 62 and 64 located on the downstream side of the sheet medium support surface 17 or 58 along the medium route 28 at a position where the front edge of the sheet fed from a sheet stack 40 supported by the sheet medium support surface 17 or 58 along the medium route 28 is obstructed. The movable pad 60 is movable between a first position where the front edge of the sheet fed from the stack 40 along the medium route 28 is obstructed and a second position where the front edge of the sheet fed from the stack 40 along the medium route 28 is not obstructed.
