Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material which can be arranged even in a complicated and tangled place and surely remove a gaseous substance remaining in an object and a gaseous substance residing in a gas residence place, and also provide a method for producing the sheet material and a method for retaining a gas adsorbing agent. SOLUTION: The sheet material 1 is provided with at least two sheets of nonwoven fabric 10 having gas permeability and flexibility and physically adsorptive granular activated carbon 20 which is sandwiched between the sheets of nonwoven fabric 10 and adsorbs a gaseous substance. The sheet material is made by a wet paper-making method. A fluff 12A is formed all over the whole opposite surface 12 opposite to the nonwoven fabric 10, and the granular activated carbon 20 is dispersed all over the whole opposite surface 12 and retained by the fluff 12A.
