PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data backup system, and a data backup method, or the like more positively preventing improper access from a third party, and having a very low possibility of having contents of backup data known to a person other than a user requesting a backup. SOLUTION: In a first authentication means 16 of a user terminal 6, when a password is inputted, it is converted in accordance with a first irreversible conversion method to be compared with password key data stored in a key data storage medium 7, and first authentication is granted if they match. In a second authentication means 18, user specifying key data stored in the key data storage medium 7 is compared with key data for authentication stored in a base server 4 via an information communication network 8, and second authentication is granted if they match. An authentication means 14 issues access authority when the first authentication and the second authentication are granted.
