INFORMATION RECORDING METHOD AND INFORMATION RECORDING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome such a problem that when control information is recorded in a write-once type information recording medium being recordable only one time, the control information is required to be recorded in a control information region recording the control information to the absolute minimum and surely, such situation is caused that the control information is not recorded during power source off-processing of a host apparatus, by only conventional updating timing at which a tray is discharged and data of fixed size is recorded. SOLUTION: A host apparatus performs recording of control information using the prescribed command such as "Start/Stop Unit command" issued during power source off-processing as a trigger. As such a situation can be suppressed to the minimum that the power source is interrupted while the latest control information is not recorded in an optical disk by using a command required surely from the host apparatus at the time of shutdown of the host apparatus as a trigger for recording the control information, such a situation can be suppressed to the minimum that when the optical disk is used again, the optical disk cannot be used by mismatching to the control information.
