Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for defoaming a liquid crystal with which a cost of a product is suppressed at a low level because manufacturing time of the product is shortened so as to significantly improve a conventional manufacturing line and production of defective items is suppressed to the utmost. SOLUTION: In the device for defoaming the liquid crystal, an undesired component is directly eliminated from a liquid crystal material in advance by stirring the liquid crystal contained in a vacuum chamber 20 with a stirring device 18 in the vacuum chamber. The device for defoaming the liquid crystal has a sequencer to detect pressure reducing speed in the vacuum chamber and an evacuation adjusting device 26 to be set in motion with information from the sequencer. When the sequencer detects a pressure reducing speed value different from the reference value, the evacuation adjusting device is set in motion and vacuum pressure in the vacuum chamber is temporarily released.
