METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRIMARY AMINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially and advantageously producing a primary amine compound expressed by formula (3) (wherein R1, R2and R3are the same or different and express each H, a lower alkyl which may be substituted or a halogen) without producing a secondary amine and a tertiary amine. SOLUTION: The method for producing the primary amine expressed by formula (3) is to react an amide compound expressed by formula (1) (wherein R1, R2and R3express the same meaning as described above, R4expresses a lower alkyl having an aryl which may be substituted on the carbon at position 1 and R5expresses a lower alkyl which may be substituted with an aryl on the carbon at position 1 or H) with a reductant and obtain an amino alcohol compound expressed by formula (2) (wherein R1, R2, R3, R4and R5express the same meaning as described above) and hydrogenize the amino alcohol compound.
