Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of preventing ghost and flare, and a shielding plate driving method. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is equipped with a lens barrel where an imaging lens group 4 and an imaging device 5 on which an optical image formed by the lens group 4 is made incident are disposed, a shielding plate 3 provided to be freely opened/closed on the optical path of the lens group 4 and preventing unnecessary luminous flux from being made incident on the lens barrel, a shake correction means 11 for correcting the shake of operator's hand, and a driving means 13 for driving the shielding plate 3 in accordance with shake correcting action.
