NAVIGATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system capable of setting a proper destination only by selecting an operator's destination presented without a survey of destination by the operator. SOLUTION: An engine start/stop historical management part 31 detects start/stop of engine and automatically accumulates information on present position, date, time, day of week, and holiday flag as engine start/stop historical information. Even after running at previous time without setting a destination and running route, the destination setting history information is automatically accumulated from the engine start/stop historical information up to the previous time only if specific conditions are fulfilled at the time of new engine start. A destination setting history management part 33 processes the stored destination setting history information with pattern and extracts a group having a specific pattern and stores the common parameter in the group in a non-volatile memory 14. A destination estimation part 34 estimates a destination of this time from the present position at the engine start, date and time, day of week, and holiday flag and previous destination setting history information.
