AUTOMATIC OPENING/CLOSING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic opening/closing device for a vehicle capable of properly opening and closing an opening/closing member according to the presence or absence of an obstacle. SOLUTION: This automatic opening/closing device 14 for the vehicle comprises a drive unit 21 and an arm 22 and is mounted on the inner part of a door. The door is automatically opened and closed by converting the output of the drive unit 21 into the opening/closing power of the door 21 by the arm 22. The drive unit 21 comprises an electric motor controllably operated by a controller 25. When the door 12 is automatically opened and closed, the electric motor is automatically controllably opened and closed by the controller 25. Also, a door inside contact sensor 46 is fitted to the cabin surface 45 of the door 12. An obstacle such as a person to lean on the cabin surface 45 of the door 12 is detected by a door inside contact sensor 46. When the door inside contact sensor 46 detects the obstacle, the controller 25 prohibits the operation of the electric motor by performing abnormality avoidance control. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
