Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame retardant resin composition which does not emit halogen gas in molding or on incineration and yet realizes the combination of mechanical strength, flexibility and flame retardance, more specifically a flame retardant resin composition which satisfies all of the characteristics required for a cover material for automobile cables such as flame retardance, mechanical strength, flexibility, wear resistance and the like. SOLUTION: The flame retardant resin composition contains (A) a resin mixture of the resins selected from the group consisting of (a)-(e), (B) a metal hydroxide and (C) an organopolysiloxane, as necessary. (a) Polypropylene resin, (b) Styrenic thermoplastic elastomer, (c) Linear low density polyethylene resin, (d) Ethylene-fatty acid vinyl ester-vinyl alcohol copolymer and (e) Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer with a vinyl acetate content of 20-45 wt.%.
