VEHICULAR ANTI-THEFT DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need of depositing an individual certification medium such as a driver's license when it is necessary to allow a third person temporary to drive a vehicle like the case of moving to a parking place by a person in charge, in a system permitting automobile driving by authenticating an registered user. SOLUTION: In a vehicular interior, an IC card reading device 11 and an emergency function establishment input device 12 are provided. Individual identifying information is recorded in an IC card type driver's license 13 inserted in the IC card reading device 11, and a control unit 1 collates the individual identifying information with that of the registered user, to permit driving. If the registered user establishes an emergency mode by the emergency function establishment input device 12, starting and driving by an unspecified third person become possible for a specified period. When requesting a person in charge to move a vehicle to a parking place, it is possible to allow him/her to drive by depositing a key alone to him/her. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
