VEHICULAR AUTOMATICALLY OPENING/CLOSING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly actuate a door according to the presence or absence of an obstacle or a state or a position of the obstacle when the obstacle exists. SOLUTION: The vehicular automatically opening/closing device equipped with a driving unit and an arm is mounted in the door 12, and the door 12 is automatically opened/closed by converting output of the driving unit to opening/closing driving force of the door 12 by the arm. The driving unit has an electric motor operation-controlled by a controlling device, and the electric motor is automatically controlled to open/close by the controlling device when automatically opening/closing the door 12. A door outside contact sensor 43 is provided on a vehicular exterior surface 42 of the door 12, and an obstacle such as a person leaning on the vehicular exterior surface 42 of the door 12 is detected by the door outside contact sensor 43. The controlling device carries out an abnormal condition avoiding control and prohibits the operation of the electric motor when the door outside contact sensor 43 detects the obstacle.
