Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrier method for the flange parts of the flush chamber of a direct heat sterilizer, preventing the flange parts from scorching and facilitating the cleaning of the flange parts. SOLUTION: The barrier method comprises the following practice: A pair of flanges are contacted with each other and a fluid is allowed to flow through the flow paths of the flange parts 17 and 18, wherein the flow paths opened are provided at the contact face of these flanges, thereby shielding the flange parts from the outside air.
