IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the curling of a sheet heated by a fixing means for fixing toner images to the sheet. SOLUTION: A printer 50 is equipped with: transfer rollers 12a to 12d for transferring the toner images from photoreceptor drums 1a to 1d where the toner images are formed to a recording medium material S; a fixing roller pair 21 for fixing the toner images to the sheet by heating the sheet; a transport roller pair 23 for transporting the sheet on the downstream side of the fixing roller pair; a discharge roller pair 28 for transporting the sheet on the downstream side of the transport roller pair; and a cooling roller 25 for cooling the sheet by coming into contact, between the transport roller pair and the discharge roller pair, with the sheet transported across the fixing roller pair and the discharge roller pair. The cooling roller 25 comes into contact with the backside of the surface of the sheet where the toner images are fixed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
