REFRIGERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator that enables a necessary article to be picked up not through full opening of a door of a freezing compartment but through partial opening of the door. SOLUTION: The refrigerator comprises the door openable and closable in front of the freezing compartment. The freezing compartment houses a storage container slidable back and forth and a slidable storage container holder for supporting the storage container. The storage container holder has in a front bottom an engaging recess in which an engaging projection is releasably fitted from below. An auxiliary door is provided to close an auxiliary opening cut in a part of a main door. The auxiliary door has a support part at a side end so as to turn horizontally to open and close the auxiliary door opening. The auxiliary door has on a back bottom a door side engaging member engaged in the engaging recess in the storage container holder. The engaging member has the projection projected up at a back end. A support part for the engaging member has an elastic member so that the engaging member projection is turned up and down as the auxiliary door is opened and closed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
