Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a lateral-axis rotary window, while its sash is naturally opened or closed by wind, to quickly and efficiently open and close by means of a sash operation device. SOLUTION: The lateral-axis rotary window is provided with a sash 1 rotatably supported at a position above the middle of left and right vertical frames 12a, 12b and 12c of a window frame 34, a weight 14 attached to the upper part of the indoor-side sash surface above its support position, a sash operation device 2. A rotary shaft 4 driven by the driving means 3 and a nearly doglegged open/close arm 6. The sash is closed when the end of one arm 7a of the open/close arm rotated by the driving means contacts the upper sash part, and is opened when the end of the other arm 7b thereof contacts the lower part of the sash.
