STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR MOUNTING BUMPER FINISHER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately ensure a clearance between a tip of an opening/closing body such as a trunk lid and an upper face of a bumper. SOLUTION: A finisher mounting clip 29 is integrated with an upper portion of a bumper mounting clip 19 via an elastic body 27. An uneven part 33b of an outer circumferential surface of a finisher mounting part 33 provided on a bumper finisher 1 is fitted to and temporarily held by an uneven part 29b formed on an inner circumferential surface of the finisher mounting clip 29. A trunk lid 5 is closed in this temporarily held condition, a lower end of the trunk lid 5 is abutted on a spacer placed on an upper face of the bumper finisher 1, and the bumper finisher 1 is moved downward of the finisher mounting clip 29 to form a predetermined clearance H corresponding to the thickness of the spacer. Thereafter, the trunk lid 5 is opened, a screw 35 is tightened to the finisher mounting part 33, and the finisher mounting part 33 is expanded to tightly attach the uneven parts 29b and 33b to each other.
