SOLUTION: When it is expected that all the recording capacity of an HDD 1d is exhausted, a controller 1c transfers one set of the oldest data for instance which are already recorded on the HDD 1d to a rental server 2 existing outside a data recording and reproducing device 1 through communication interfaces 1e and 2b to create a free area in the HDD 1d and continuously records new data there.
