DIGITAL TV BROADCASTING RECEIVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital TV broadcasting receiver for providing sufficient information to a user for the purpose of allowing a program content to be understood by automatically changing-over sound to be decoded into a sub-sound, when a program in viewing has the sub-sound with audio commentary, in a state where an image cannot be viewed in viewing a digital TV broadcasting. SOLUTION: The receiver includes a means of determining that the program in viewing has the one having the sub-sound with the audio commentary, and a means of determining that a user is in a state where he/she cannot view image display. When a state where the program in viewing has the sub-sound with the audio commentary and the user cannot view the image is detected, the sound to be decoded is automatically changed-over into sub-sound. Thus, effective and sufficient information is provided to the user in order to make the program content understood, without requiring complicated operations. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
