METHOD FOR QUANTIFYING AMOUNT OF BREATH COMPONENT, AND FRAGRANT MATERIAL REMAINING ON ORAL MUCOUS MEMBRANE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quantifying the amount of medicinal agents, bactericidal agents, breath components and fragrant materials remaining on or being absorbed to an oral mucous membrane. SOLUTION: The method uses keratin powder for quantifying the amount of the bad breath components such as trimethylamine, dimethyl sulfide, p-cresol, methyl mercaptan, isocaproic acid, phenyl propionic acid, cinnamic acid and the like, and fragrant materials, such as menthol, carvone, anethole, pinene, limonene, methyl salicylate, cinnamic aldehyde, cineole, thymol, eugenol, isopulegol, menthyl acetate, menthyl lactate and the like remaining on or being absorbed to the oral mucous membrane.
