Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine, in which quantity of addition for urea or ammonium to an NOx catalyst, in case of an ammonium added type, can be controlled properly without lack or excess. SOLUTION: In a high temperature range where catalyst temperature Tc is higher than prescribed temperature T1, map control is executed to set the quantity of addition Qnd for ammonium (NH3) based on a map (S28-S32). In a low temperature range of the prescribed temperature T1 or lower, sensor control is executed to set the quantity of addition Qnd for ammonium based on information from upstream side and downstream side NOx sensors (S18-S22).
