Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide lithographic printing plate having good printing durability and density of a fine image and free of thinning of an image by using a silver halide emulsion to which iodine ions are added in a physical aging process. SOLUTION: In the physical aging process for preparing a silver halide emulsion containing ≥70 mol% of silver chloride by a double jet process, iodine ions are added to a silver halide emulsion within a time in which silver ions corresponding to 2-20% of the total amount of silver ions used in the physical aging process are consumed.
