METHOD FOR TREATING DISSOLUTION RESIDUE OF BAUXITE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a dissolution residue of bauxite, which does not produce waste to be newly treated, and makes effective use of a treated product as an iron source. SOLUTION: This treatment method comprises charging the dissolution residue of bauxite together with coke and a slag-making material into a coke-bed-type melting furnace kept into a reducing atmosphere, and melting and reducing it; or alternatively, charging the dissolution residue of bauxite together with waste, coke and a slag-making material into a coke-bed-type melting furnace 10, and melting and reducing it. An article to be treated, the coke and lime are charged into the melting furnace 10 from a slot 13.
