Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment agent for forming minute unevenness on the surface of material, a surface-treated material and a method for treating the surface for growing the unevenness, and a surface treatment agent easily processed and useful for forming unevenness on surfaces of materials such as glass, lens, fiber and the like having water repellency, materials excellent in preventing pollution, panels excellent in light scattering properties, illuminations such as optical fiber and the like, snow protective materials/paints of antennae, electric wires, electric towers and the like, formation of unevenness on the surface of semiconductor base. SOLUTION: The surface treatment agent contains 5-60 mass% fine particle slurry based on the total weight of the surface treatment agent. In the slurry, the fine particles having 1-50nm average primary particle size are mechanically dispersed in a solvent containing a volatile solvent and treated to be water repellent. The method for treating the surface is to form an uneven concavo-convex structure which is concave upward and has 0.1-50μm period on the surface by evaporation of the solvent or repeated dipping into water.
