INSTRUMENT PANEL FOR AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument panel for an automobile requiring less labor in mounting operation for a down light and enabling excellent productivity. SOLUTION: In this instrument panel for an automobile, an operation panel 2 formed of a member differs from an instrument panel 1 forming the cabin front face of the automobile and in which a plurality of switches 4, an operating knob 5, and a display device 6 controlling an air conditioner are collectively installed, is mounted generally surface uniformity with the instrument panel 1, on the instrument panel 1 at the vehicle lateral center position. A swelling part 30 extending slightly to a cabin side is fitted integrally to the lower end part of the operation panel 2, an opening 31 facing downward is formed at the lower part of the swelling part 30, a light source 34 is installed in the swelling part 30, and a down light 3 illuminating a cabin floor F by the light from the light source 34 passing the opening 31 is installed.
