Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicating instrument having no fear of step-out and breakage even when a detection signal in a range exceeding an assumed maximum value. SOLUTION: In the indicating instrument 30, when a detection value exceeding the maximum in the assumed rotation range of pointers 14, 23 that are determined in accordance with a maximum value previously assumed, drive signals to the pointer 14, 23 are replaced to a drive signal value Dm indicating the maximum indicating value Im stored into an EEPROM 37 in a controller 34. Consequently, since the pointers 14, 23 always indicate the maximum value when the detection value exceeding the previously assumed maximum value, the fear of contacting a housing formed in the indicating instrument 30 caused by rotating exceeding the maximum value in the assumed rotation range and then the setup and breakage thereby do not produced.
