AUTOMATIC STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic storage and retrieval system capable of enhancing the shipping capacity of the automatic storage and retrieval system having a plurality of shipping ports on a back side, and a method for operating the same. SOLUTION: In the automatic storage and retrieval system, a warehousing stacker crane 30 and a warehousing stacker crane 60 are installed on the front side and the back side of a shelf 10 having a plurality of storage parts 11 and 11 in the step direction and the continuous direction, and two storage parts in the longitudinal row direction, a warehousing port 50 is installed on the warehousing stacker crane 30 side, a plurality of shipping ports 80A-80D are installed on the shipping stacker crane 60 side, and a shipping preparation shelf 90 having a plurality of storage parts 91 and 91 in the step direction and the continuous direction and two storage parts in the longitudinal row direction on the shipping ports 80A-80D side. The warehousing stacker crane 30 carries and stores the cargo to be shipped to the shipping ports 80A-80D to the two storage parts 11 and 11 arranged in the row direction of the shelf 10. The shipping stacker crane 60 carries two cargoes stored in the two storage parts 11 and 11 arranged in the row direction of the shelf to the storage parts 91 and 91, or the shipping ports 80A-80D.
