BICYCLE FRAME PIPE AND ITS PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe for a bicycle frame embodied at a low cost in a lightweight construction, capable of giving the frame sufficient mechanical characteristics required on a bicycle frame including the tensile strength, Young's modulus, etc. SOLUTION: The pipe for the bicycle frame is formed by laminating a titanium layer using a titanium pipe on the peripheral surface of a pipe work consisting chiefly of aluminum. Covering the peripheral surface of aluminum pipe with the titanium layer complements the defect of aluminum material susceptible to chemical erosion and flaw, and the pipe can be equipped with sufficient mechanical characteristics required of a bicycle frame such as tensile strength, a high Young's modulus, and good vibration absorptiveness, and also light construction can be established as a whole, and it is possible to establish lightweight construction and maintaining the strength in good balance.
