MULTIMEDIA INFORMATION EDITING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multimedia information editing apparatus capable of displaying a coded reduction image at an arbitrary position on a multi-screen. SOLUTION: The multimedia information editing apparatus comprises a moving picture reduction means 102 for reducing a captured moving picture; a moving picture coding means 103 for coding the reduced moving picture for generating a coded moving picture; an accumulation means 105 for accumulating and storing the coded moving picture; and a moving picture composition means 106 for editing at least one accumulated, coded moving picture for generating a multi-screen moving picture. The moving picture coding means 103 performs coding for facilitating an alteration in position information according to the position information that the reduction image has in consideration of when the arrangement of the reduction image allows the position information to be changed in editing. The moving picture composition means 106 changes the position information to that required for editing processing by the editing processing, when the position information that the reduction image has requires the change.
