PORTABLE TELEPHONE SET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set in which a function can be newly added other than a program stored in advance in the portable telephone set, and functions of the portable telephone set can be easily extended by selectively designating and receiving a program having the new function on the basis of a menu received from a source computer. SOLUTION: The portable telephone set includes a transmitting/receiving part 11, a display part 19, an input part 18, a memory part 17 and a CPU 16, wherein the transmitting/receiving part 11 receives a program having a new function different from a fundamental function and an additional function stored in advance when the portable telephone set is purchased, via a telephone line and the CPU 16 stores the received program into the memory part 17, initiates the program and operates according to the function of the program.
