Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for controlling activation of an engine cooling fan, based on an intake manifold air temperature and time in an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. SOLUTION: A method for controlling at least one engine cooling fan for an internal combustion engine, includes turning on at least the one cooling fan when the intake manifold air temperature is equal to or greater than a predetermined turn-on threshold temperature for a predetermined turn-on time, and turning off the at least one cooling fan when the intake manifold air temperature is equal to or less than a predetermined turn-off threshold temperature for a predetermined turn-off time.
