PPARgamma LIGAND AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) ligand agent derived from a natural product; and to obtain a composition containing the agent as an active ingredient and having activities for preventing or ameliorating metabolic syndromes, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, hyperlipemia, hypertension, offal fat-type overweight and fatty liver. SOLUTION: This PPARγ ligand agent is dehydrodieugenol A, dehydrodieugenol B, magnolol, oleanolic acid, betulic acid or a salt thereof acceptable as a medicine or a food and drink. The composition containing the PPARγ ligand agent as an active ingredient is useful for preventing and ameliorating the metabolic syndrome, the insulin resistance, the type 2 diabetes, the hyperlipemia, the hypertension, the offal fat-type overweight and the fatty liver.
