METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROVIDING USER INTERFACE USING AVATARS FOR DIGITAL TELEVISION WATCHERS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for providing digital television watchers with a user interface by which users are provided with the user interface including avatars for the digital television. SOLUTION: The method for providing the user interface using the avatars includes steps of: generating avatars and menu screens by the user information; displaying the generated avatars and menu screens; and updating the avatars and menu screens according to the user's watching pattern. The device for providing the user interface includes an information-collecting unit for collecting user information, an avatar generating and updating part for generating or updating avatars according to the user information collected by the above information-collecting unit, a menu screen constitution part for generating or updating menu screens and a data processing part for transmitting the above generated or updated avatars and menu screens to a display.
