COLOR CATHODE-RAY TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube having a vibration damping body effective for both fine vibration and large vibration of a shadow mask, and hardly causing color drift by the output of a speaker or the like. SOLUTION: This color cathode-ray tube has frame-like vibration damping bodies 7 mounted to the shadow mask 1 in a freely-movable form, and a strip-like vibration damping body 23 having tension applied in the same direction as the tension application direction of the shadow mask 1, disposed so as to contact a surface of the shadow mask, and having both their ends supported by a frame body frame 2, whereby mask amplitude for large vibration of the shadow mask 1 is regulated by the damping body 23, so that mask vibration can be suppressed. In addition, since a contact state of each damping body 7 to the shadow mask 1 can always be secured when the mask amplitude is small, the mask vibration can be suppressed.
