VIDEO RECORDING AND REPRODUCING APPARATUS, RECEPTION APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD, AND CONTROL PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording and reproducing apparatus and a video recording and reproducing method which enable pictures to be recorded or reproduced while skipping only specific scenes in programs of digital broadcasting. SOLUTION: A channel is selected by a tuner part 10 and a demodulation part 11 to select one TS stream. A specific program of a specific channel is selected by selecting a desired packet by a TS decoder 12. A main line video voice signal is decoded by a MPEG decoder 13 and is displayed on an external monitor 18. An event message detection part 14 detects an event message for commercial switching of data broadcasting, and this detection of the event message is input to a picture recording and reproducing control part 15, and the pictures of the program where commercials are skipped are stored into a hard disk by the control of the picture recording and reproducing control part 15.
