MOVING OBJECT MONITORING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving object monitoring device which uses an oscillating camera for an automatic tracking andalso a manual tracking of a moving object in a monitoring area so as to prevent crimes such as shoplifter action by intimidation effect by the automatic tracking and to collect video evidence of a shoplifter addict by the manual tracking. SOLUTION: The moving body monitoring device is provided with the camera photographing a prescribed monitoring area, a universal head panning and tilting the camera and a monitor displaying a video signal of the camera. The device has an automatic tracking mode for taking in a picture signal from the camera, comparing a difference with frame data just before and controlling the universal head for tracking a coordinate equivalent to the difference when the difference is detected and a manual operation monitoring mode which is connected to the universal head and remotely operates panning/tilting control of the universal head by an actuator. Both modes can be switched. The camera is provided with a zoom lens and it controls the zoom lens by the actuator at the manual monitoring mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
