FIELD EMISSION TYPE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high quality and a long lifetime by improving the degree of vacuum in the interior of a display device, and by maintaining a prescribed degree of vacuum. SOLUTION: This device has a fluorescent face substrate 103 having a fluorescent face 104, and has an electron discharge substrate 101 having an electron discharge part 102, and this is provided with an outer container 108 in order to keep a region 105 pinched by these both substrates in vacuum to form a container, and a space at which a sputter-ion pump 107 is arranged in the outer container 108 is made. The sputter-ion pump 107 is arranged in the interior of this space, and by operating this, the interior of the container is maintained to be in a required degree of vacuum for a long time.
