HOLOGRAM RECORDING MATERIAL, HOLOGRAM RECORDING MEDIUM, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HOLOGRAM RECORDING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram recording material containing a metal oxide and having high diffraction efficiency, a hologram recording medium, and a method for manufacturing the hologram recording material. SOLUTION: The hologram recording material contains metal oxide particles, a polymerizable monomer, and a photoinitiator which initiates the polymerization of this monomer upon photoirradiation. The metal oxide particles are surface-treated with a surface treating agent in which a hydrophobic group and a functional group which can combine with a hydroxyl group on the surfaces of the metal oxide particles by dehydration condensation are combined to a metal atom selected from the group consisting of titanium, aluminum, zirconium, and chromium. Another hologram recording material related to this invention contains metal oxide particles, a polymerizable monomer, and a photoinitiator which initiates the polymerization of this monomer upon photoirradiation, wherein the metal oxide is surface-modified with a group comprising a metal atom and a hydrophobic group combining to this metal atom, wherein the metal atom is selected from the group consisting of titanium, aluminum, zirconium, and chromium.
