VEHICULAR SLIDING DOOR SUPPORTING STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure good appearance in the design of a side surface of a rear portion of a vehicle body when a guide rail extends long backwardly to the position close to a tail lamp. SOLUTION: A sliding door 3 to open/close an entrance opening 4 formed in a side part of a vehicle body is guided by a guide rail 20 extending in the longitudinal direction. The guide rail 20 extends long backward to the position close to a tail lamp 10 with a rear end thereof provided on a rear portion of the vehicle body, and can extend further backward over a front end of the tail lamp 10. An edge line 10c in the horizontal direction of the tail lamp 10 is set to be substantially as high as the guide rail 20. When a cover member 25 to cover the guide rail 20 is provided, a lower edge 25c of the cover member 25 is preferably substantially as high as the parting line 10c in the horizontal direction of the tail lamp 10.
