Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound capable of quickly screening microorganisms having the activity of biodegrading a polyester containing a terephthalic acid component and an enzyme produced by the microorganisms. SOLUTION: The new compound is a nitrophenol derivative having a structure of general formula(I). A method for producing the nitrophenol derivative is also provided, comprising carrying out a reaction between terephthaloyl chloride, ethylene glycol and p-nitrophenol in a solution and depositing the objective compound of general formula(I) from the resultant reaction liquid.
